All bikes come with a helmet (which is mandatory), lock, pump, water bottle and a seat pack (with tube, levers, patch kit).  We recommend you bring your favorite cycling shoes and shorts.  (If you have a clip-less pedal / shoe system on your bike, you may want to bring it along).

The bicycles we rent the most are mountain bikes for a few reasons. A mountain bike provides a wide gear selection to help tackle some of the challenging steep hills. Mountain bikes have powerful brakes to keep the bike in control while riding downhill and on rough terrain.

Tortola offers the cyclist with a variety of terrain. The sea road from Road Town to West End provides 10 miles of flat roads with a view of the surrounding islands along Drakes Channel. At West End, you can choose to return to town if you are on a road bike or continue around Steele Point on the slightly hilly dirt road to Smugglers Cove and Long Bay or take the paved road to the North side of the island. From this point on, if you are up to the challenge of windy hill, you will get a spectacular view by riding up to Ridge Road where you then have many options on the ride home.  For the road bike cyclist who likes a challenge, you can go from Road Town to East End where you will have to climb 5 very short steep hills (one of them extremely steep) each way, that should give you a good interval work-out.  There are numerous other roads in and around the island to explore for the Mountain biker.
